Outer Banks, North Carolina
North Carolina is known for having some of the most beautiful lighthouses in the US. These lighthouses help boats traveling the shoreline spot the coast of the NC's famous beaches: the Outer Banks.
Road to Nowhere, Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Lake View Drive is more commonly called the "Road to Nowhere." Near Bryson City, the road was originally created to replace a flooded portion of Highway 288. Unfortunately, construction displaced a thousand families from their homes, and ultimately environmental issues demanded that road construction was abandoned.
Metalmophosis: Charlotte, NC
Located in the middle of an office park in Charlotte, the giant metal head, Metalmorphosis was made by the Czech artist, David Cerny, and completed in 2007.
